About The Position

Maumelle Animal Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Kennel Technician to provide care for patients in the hospital and clients in the boarding facility. This role involves cleaning, laundry, feeding, walking dogs, medicating, restocking supplies, assisting with post-operative patients, and supporting doctors and assistants with animal restraint and exams. Accurate recordkeeping of medications, special foods, appetite, behavior, and any issues that arise is crucial. Training will be provided for cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments.

Requirements

Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods.
Proper methods of animal restraint.
Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency.
Perform moderately heavy physical labor (large dogs, bags of litter, pet foods, etc).
Ability to sympathetically and patiently attend to sick, scared and injured animals.
Ability to learn to administer medications and to recognize abnormal conditions.
Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the job.
Weekend/holiday availability required.

Responsibilities

Care, feeding, and medicating of patients in hospital and boarding facility.
Cleaning of patient areas and boarding facility.
Performing laundry duties.
Bathing and grooming animals.
Walking dogs.

Assisting with post-operative patients.
