About The Position

Beacon Veterinary Specialists is a criticalist-led 24/7 Emergency & Specialty practice seeking a Veterinary Clinical Services Supervisor to join our dedicated team. We're searching for a compassionate, driven individual who is passionate about delivering the highest standard of care to our patients and clients. This is a 70% clinical on the floor supervisory position with 30% administrative support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a veterinary leadership or supervisory role, demonstrating leadership, coaching and organizational skills required.
  • Previous experience working as a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician required.
  • A genuine compassion for both people and animals.
  • The ability to perform or instruct team members in veterinary medical patient care and nursing tasks.
  • Basic veterinary front office skills including client service, financial management and phone etiquette.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback.
  • The ability to seamlessly transition between leadership and team-player roles, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • A self-motivated and self-directed approach to work, demonstrating initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to encourage, mentor, and lead a team, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and find innovative solutions to challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Active California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license preferred.
  • Experience working in a multi-department emergency or specialty practice preferred.
  • Candidates with an Associate’s degree or a high school diploma, along with at least four years of veterinary medical experience showing growth in responsibility and skills will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the client service and veterinary medical support team.
  • Setting the tone for the department by modeling a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Working closely with clients to ensure that they have a positive experience at our hospital.
  • Answering client questions, addressing their concerns, and going above and beyond to exceed their expectations.
  • Hiring, training, and evaluating support staff.
  • Providing ongoing coaching and development to help team members reach their full potential, including training or teaching veterinary assistants and technicians technical skills.
  • Continuously looking for ways to improve the efficiency of the client service and veterinary medical support team.
  • Identifying bottlenecks, implementing process improvements, and ensuring that the team is always operating at peak performance.
  • Maintaining a safe and positive work environment for both staff and patients.
  • Enforcing safety protocols, addressing any workplace conflicts, and promoting a culture of respect and collaboration.
  • Performing or instructing team members in veterinary medical patient care and nursing tasks.
  • Utilizing basic veterinary front office skills including client service, financial management and phone etiquette.
  • Fostering a collaborative environment by seamlessly transitioning between leadership and team-player roles.
  • Expanding the company's client base and attracting new patients.
