About The Position

GoodNeighbor Flamingo Road Animal Hospital is preparing to reopen its newly renovated animal hospital, with plans to welcome clients and patients in mid-October. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team during a new chapter and help shape the culture, workflows, and client experience from the very beginning. We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and team-oriented Veterinary Assistant who is passionate about animal care and dedicated to providing outstanding service to pets and their families. Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary Assistant certification is welcomed but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide food, water, comfort, and daily care for hospitalized and boarding patients
  • Safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Monitor patients and report changes in condition to the veterinary team
  • Assist with treatment administration and patient recovery
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with exams, treatments, procedures, and surgical preparation
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites
  • Perform basic laboratory tasks and sample preparation
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment logs
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, exam rooms, treatment areas, and common spaces
  • Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining inventory
  • Support smooth hospital operations as we establish workflows and processes for reopening
  • Provide exceptional client communication and education
  • Help create a welcoming experience for pets and their families
  • Support the front desk and client flow as needed
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through compassion and professionalism
