About The Position

VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant who is positive, energetic, eager to learn, and works well on a team. VCA Shoreline is a state-of-the-art medical facility providing a range of specialty, critical care and emergency services exclusively for dogs and cats. Located in Shelton, our veterinary specialists, technicians and pet-friendly support staff are trained to the highest standards, delivering the best medical care for pets and the best experience for pet owners.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Able to effectively communicate with others in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Providing nursing care for all inpatient's
• Full technician skill utilization
• Collecting patient histories & physical exams
• Medication refills, and pet parent communication
• Proficient in medical calculations
• Venipuncture / IVC placement
• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Providing compassionate care for all patients
• Other duties as assigned
