Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Located just minutes from the beaches of the Jersey Shore, VCA Bayview Animal Hospital is a 3 doctor general practice offering wellness and sick care, digital radiography including dental x-rays, surgery, FAST ultrasound, in house bloodwork, and hospitalization. We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team full time. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
Requirements
- A positive, encouraging and supportive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility in hours including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
- Customer service skills
- Working knowledge of computers
- Capable of being cross-trained as receptionist and kennel assistant
- Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments

- Seasoned Veterinary Assistant or Technician in training

- Compassionate patient care
- Maintaining medical records.
- Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients.
- Filling prescriptions.
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.
