About The Position

We are a PRIVATELY OWNED, 2 doctor practice in the Arlington neighborhood of Jacksonville. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our skilled vetmed team. The ideal candidate needs to have at least 1 year of experience working in a Veterinary Clinic as a Kennel tech or Veterinary Assistant. Will consider candidates with basic kennel or Veterinary Assistant experience only. Our candidate should be a team player, have a positive attitude, and have excellent animal restraint skills. We offer health benefits and paid Continuing Education with full-time employment.

Requirements

• 1-3 yrs Veterinary Assistant or Kennel experience
• Highly organized
• Practical knowledge of hospital setup and medical terminology
• Physically able to assist in cleaning hospital and kennels
• Familiar with most Heartworm/Flea preventions/Vaccines
• 1 year of experience working in a Veterinary Clinic as a Kennel tech or Veterinary Assistant
• Team player
• Positive attitude
• Excellent animal restraint skills

Nice To Haves

• Will consider candidates with basic kennel or Veterinary Assistant experience only.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians and doctors with miscellaneous duties
• Restrain animals using low stress techniques
