About The Position

Orlando Vets Eastwood is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to work with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide high-quality care for animals and customer service to their owners. The role supports the hospital’s progressive, compassionate medical and surgical care for canine and feline patients. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and every other Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The stated pay range is $15.00–$18.00 per hour, based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. Orlando Vets Eastwood is a patient- and client-centered practice in Orlando. The animal hospital came under new management in 2019 and describes its care as compassionate and personal, with customized health plans and ongoing support for pets and their owners.

Requirements

At least 1 year of veterinary experience.
Technical know-how in areas such as disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
Perform basic laboratory tests, including collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
Administer medications and vaccinations under a veterinarian’s supervision.
Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
Maintain accurate medical records.
Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
Clean and maintain the clinic, including stocking supplies and ensuring a safe, sanitary environment.
