About The Position

Oak View Animal Clinic in Pea Ridge, AR, is seeking two veterinary assistants to join their growing team. They are a well-established, progressive 3-doctor small animal practice providing high-quality veterinary care. They have two openings: one for an experienced veterinary assistant (at least one year of experience required) and another for a veterinary assistant with no previous experience required, for whom training will be provided. The veterinary hospital is fast-paced and offers a wide range of services. The team is friendly, experienced, and supportive, valuing collaboration, continued learning, and excellent patient care. Requirements

• At least one year of veterinary experience (for the experienced role)
• Compassionate, calm, dependable, and team-oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary environment
• Strong communicator and willing to learn
• Able to properly restrain and safely handle pets
• Comfortable multitasking and staying organized
• Eager to continue developing veterinary knowledge and skills
• Experience with sample collection, laboratory testing, radiographs, medical histories, and anesthesia monitoring (required for experienced role, not for entry-level)

Responsibilities

• Assisting with pet restraint and patient handling
• Triaging incoming veterinary patients and obtaining medical histories
• Collecting and processing laboratory samples
• Assisting with diagnostic imaging and radiographs
• Providing nursing care for hospitalized and medical cases
• Administering medications as directed by the veterinary team
• Preparing patients for surgery and assisting during procedures
• Supporting anesthesia monitoring
• Communicating treatment plans and instructions with clients
• Keeping treatment areas clean, organized, and ready for patients
