Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
Premier Vet Care is hiring a Veterinary Assistant. This is a full-time position with a salary of $14.00–$16.00 per hour. The schedule is four days per week, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, with rotating Saturday shifts from 7:30 AM–12:00 PM. This is an in-person role. Premier Vet Care is a three-doctor practice with a well-established, compassionate team committed to outstanding patient care. Our patients benefit from services and technology including digital radiography, ultrasound, surgery, and alternative medicine. As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our hospital running smoothly and helping every patient feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. We offer a welcoming, supportive team culture, hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow veterinary skills. We also provide a four-day work week, flexible scheduling, regular lunch breaks, and no nights or on-call shifts to support a healthy work-life balance. The team values learning, collaboration, growth, and fun, with occasional team lunches, ice cream parties, coffee runs, and sing-alongs.

Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Provide compassionate, attentive care to patients throughout their visits.
- Safely handle and restrain patients as needed.
- Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, instruments, and equipment.
- Help keep patient-care areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for the next appointment.
- Comfort and reassure nervous or anxious pets.
- Assist with client education and communication as directed by the veterinary team.
- Support daily hospital operations and help keep patient care running smoothly.
- Collaborate with teammates and jump in wherever support is needed.
