About The Position

Quality Veterinary Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their fast-paced, 4-doctor general small animal practice in Elmont, NY. The practice offers comprehensive services including preventative care, surgery, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, and ultrasonography. This role offers opportunities for growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Must be able to properly restrain pets
Proficient in sample collection
Proficient in obtaining medical histories
Proficient in processing laboratory tests
Proficient in processing radiographs
Proficient in anesthesia monitoring
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
