About The Position

Walkertown Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This full-service hospital provides advanced veterinary care using modern equipment and technology, including digital radiology, a surgical suite for complex procedures, and a therapy laser. The hospital serves patients in Walkertown, Kernersville, Walnut Cove, Winston-Salem, and surrounding areas of North Carolina. The role involves direct patient care, client communication, and utilizing diagnostic imaging and laboratory services.

Requirements

Minimum of 2-years experience as a Veterinary Assistant
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Must be able to properly restrain pets
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Nice To Haves

Proficient in sample collection
Proficient in obtaining medical histories
Proficient in processing laboratory tests and radiographs
Proficient in anesthesia monitoring

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
