Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with physical examinations, vaccinations, surgeries, dental procedures, euthanasia, and client education
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and treatment areas
- Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs
- Provide compassionate nursing care and support for patients
- Maintain kennels and treatment areas to hospital cleanliness standards
- Safely restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Perform diagnostic imaging and laboratory procedures as directed by veterinarians
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Observe patient behavior and communicate findings to the veterinary team
- Complete medical SOAP notes and maintain accurate patient records
- Monitor patient flow and help maintain efficient room turnover
- Assist with opening and closing duties and daily hospital checklists
- Support hospital efficiency and maintain a positive client experience
- Follow all hospital policies, protocols, and safety standards
