About The Position

Ayers Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This role involves providing comprehensive care for small companion animals and pocket pets, treating them with the same care as their own pets. The hospital is a full-service facility equipped for emergency, medical, surgical, preventive health, and dental cases. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, calm, a team player, multi-tasker, and a strong communicator, with a desire for continuous learning and skill advancement.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred

Proficient in sample collection
Obtaining medical histories
Processing laboratory tests and radiographs
Anesthesia monitoring

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
