About The Position

Walkertown Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This full-service hospital provides high-standard veterinary care for pets in Walkertown, Kernersville, Walnut Cove, Winston-Salem, and surrounding areas of North Carolina. The hospital is equipped with modern technology, including a state-of-the-art facility with a complete in-house laboratory, 2 digital radiology units, a modern surgical suite capable of complex and orthopedic procedures, and a Class IV therapy laser. The role offers opportunities for virtual and hands-on training, continuing development, and career advancement.

Requirements

Minimum of 2-years experience as a Veterinary Assistant
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Must be able to properly restrain pets
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Nice To Haves

Proficient in sample collection
Obtaining medical histories
Processing laboratory tests and radiographs
Anesthesia monitoring

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
