About The Position
Magnolia Veterinary Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join their caring and committed ICU team. As a vital member of the hospital care team, the Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care to animals requiring monitoring and treatments with mild to moderate conditions. Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting required
- Passion for animals and their humans
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
- Able to stay calm under pressure in emergency situations
- Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented
- Must be able to lift 40+ lbs and be comfortable handling cats and dogs of all sizes
Nice To Haves
- ICU and/or anesthesia experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, compassionate care to hospitalized dogs and cats
- Monitor vital signs, observe patient behavior, and promptly report changes to veterinary staff
- Provide clear, compassionate education to pet families
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Maintain clean, comfortable, and safe environments for all patients
- Assist with emergency intakes and treatments
- Support veterinarians and technicians during procedures
- Keep accurate medical records and documentation
- Offer comfort and reassurance to pets and their owners during admissions
