About The Position

Palm Desert Pet Hospital is seeking a Part-time Veterinary Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and is part of a fun, supportive team. This role involves rooming patients, surgical assisting, drawing blood, running bloodwork, taking X-rays, animal handling and restraint, client education, and being a positive team member. Palm Desert Pet Hospital is dedicated to providing excellent and compassionate medical care for pets and personalized service for owners in a friendly, professional work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of animal care and behavior
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in computer skills and medical record-keeping software
  • Experience rooming patients
  • Surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used
  • Drawing blood and running bloodwork
  • Knowledge of X-rays and proper positioning
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Understanding the importance of client education
  • Being a positive and supportive team member
