About The Position

Palm Desert Pet Hospital is seeking a Part-time Veterinary Technician to join their team. This role involves rooming patients, surgical assisting, drawing blood, running bloodwork, taking X-rays, animal handling and restraint, client education, and being a positive team member. Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Knowledge of animal care and behavior
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in computer skills and medical record-keeping software
Experience rooming patients
Surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used
Drawing blood and running bloodwork
Knowledge of X-rays and proper positioning
Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
Understanding the importance of client education
Being a positive and supportive team member

Nice To Haves

Experience in assisting veterinarians in examinations, procedures, and surgeries
Experience in administering medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
Experience in maintaining accurate medical records and updating patient files
Experience in educating clients on animal care, nutrition, and treatment plans
Experience in performing laboratory tests and analyzing results
Experience in preparing animals for surgery and monitoring anesthesia during procedures
Experience in cleaning and maintaining equipment, instruments, and exam rooms
Experience in providing compassionate care to our patients and their owners
