About The Position

Animal Care Center at Cherry Way is hiring a part-time Veterinary Assistant for its busy, four-doctor veterinary hospital, which also offers grooming, boarding, and doggie daycare. The position is approximately 15 hours per week, with a mix of morning and afternoon shifts and Saturday morning rotations. The assistant will support clinical care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and provide client service. Responsibilities may vary according to hospital needs and the employee’s experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned responsibilities. Veterinary technician licensure is welcome but not required.

Strong technical skills with laboratory work, radiographs, and patient monitoring.
A dependable, detail-oriented approach.

A passion for animals and client service.
Availability for Saturday morning rotations.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift an unspecified weight with assistance.

Nice To Haves

Veterinary experience is preferred.
Veterinary technician licensure is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist doctors with exams, treatments, and surgeries.
Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
Monitor patients throughout their care.
Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
Communicate with clients about patient care and home instructions.
Keep the hospital clean and organized, and ensure equipment is ready.
