About The Position
This role involves assisting in various aspects of veterinary care, including exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. The Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients, collecting samples, performing diagnostic imaging, and communicating with clients. The position is located within a well-equipped veterinary hospital that offers primary care, emergency services, surgical suites, a dental suite, and advanced diagnostics.
Requirements
- Ability to collect blood samples using proper venipuncture techniques.
- Ability to obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs following safety and positioning guidelines.
- Ability to perform ear cytology, cleaning, and treatment preparation.
- Effective communication skills for client interaction.
- Knowledge of pet care, medications, and post-treatment instructions.

Responsibilities
- Assist in exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams by gathering medical histories and taking vital signs.
- Collect blood samples using proper venipuncture techniques.
- Assist with lab work, sample collection, and processing.
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs following safety and positioning guidelines.
- Perform ear cytology, cleaning, and treatment preparation.
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, education, and support regarding patient care.
- Educate pet owners on pet care, medications, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain clean and organized treatment and exam areas.
