About The Position

Priority Pet Urgent Care of Hermitage is a new facility providing urgent care for pets 7 days a week from 2 pm to 12 am midnight. We are seeking experienced and compassionate Veterinary Assistants to ensure the highest quality of medicine. Our new building and state-of-the-art equipment will provide our teams with the space and tools needed to deliver excellent service and medicine to our community.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant
Compassionate and calm team player
Ability to properly restrain pets
Ability to multi-task
Strong communication skills
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in sample collection
Obtaining medical histories
Processing laboratory tests and radiographs
Anesthesia monitoring skills

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
