About The Position

Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join their Physical Rehabilitation team. This state-of-the-art referral hospital is looking for an individual to contribute to enhancing the lives of injured or physically impaired animals. The rehabilitation services offered include in-patient/out-patient rehab, home exercise programs, weight loss management, client education, and numerous assistive devices. Modalities include therapeutic laser, electric stimulation, therapeutic massage, therapeutic exercises, therapeutic ultrasound, and a wide range of exercise equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
• Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience

Responsibilities

• Gentle handling of patients & restraining
• Assisting with physical rehabilitation treatments
• Maintaining rehabilitation equipment
• Cleaning, laundry and basic clinic up keep
• Medication administration & filling prescriptions
• Assisting our Technicians and our Veterinarian as needed
• Tackling projects as assigned
