Requirements
- Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred (urgent care or ER experience is a plus)
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, dependable, kind, and adaptable personality
- Comfortable with patient restraint and handling of dogs and cats
- Basic understanding of veterinary terminology and workflow
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Nice To Haves
- urgent care or ER experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with urgent care appointments and treatments
- Safely restrain patients for exams, diagnostics, and procedures
- Obtain patient histories using the CoVet Assistant and assist with compassionate client communication throughout the visit
- Support radiology, laboratory sample collection, medication preparation, and treatments
- Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hospital workflow efficiency
- Help create a welcoming, compassionate experience for clients and patients during stressful situations
- Jump in where needed and support the team during busy shifts
