About The Position

Ridgeville Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant! We are a full-service, 3-doctor small animal practice that prides itself on creating an upbeat, positive culture where learning, teamwork, and patient care come first. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistant who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to grow alongside a supportive, team-focused hospital. Requirements

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with the veterinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of animal behavior, handling, and general patient care
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to safely restrain larger pets when necessary
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient handling
  • Positive attitude and genuine passion for animal care

Responsibilities

  • Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations and procedures
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments
  • Obtain diagnostics including radiographs, phlebotomy, sample collection, and in-house laboratory testing
  • Support preventative care and vaccine appointments
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
  • Assist with hospitalized patient care and daily treatment support
