About The Position

Ridgeville Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant! We are a full-service, 3-doctor small animal practice that prides itself on creating an upbeat, positive culture where learning, teamwork, and patient care come first. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Assistant who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to grow alongside a supportive, team-focused hospital. Requirements

Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time efficiently
Ability to work independently while also collaborating with the veterinary team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic understanding of animal behavior, handling, and general patient care
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to safely restrain larger pets when necessary
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient handling
Positive attitude and genuine passion for animal care

Responsibilities

Safely handle and restrain patients during examinations and procedures
Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments
Obtain diagnostics including radiographs, phlebotomy, sample collection, and in-house laboratory testing
Support preventative care and vaccine appointments
Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
Assist with hospitalized patient care and daily treatment support
