About The Position
Join VCA Premier Animal Hospital and Pet Resort as a Veterinary Assistant in Cedar Park / North Austin, TX. This is a full-time position with a varied schedule. For over 20 years, VCA Premier, a six-doctor practice, has proudly served the North Austin community. At VCA Premier, the focus is on quality medicine, personalized client care, and building a healthy, supportive work culture. As a member of the VCA team, you will support the Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent by delivering an outstanding client experience, enabling the provision of exceptional care to every patient.
Requirements
- Ability to restrain and assist in patient exams and routine procedures.
- Ability to take detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
- Ability to fill prescriptions (as allowed by law).
- Ability to perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Ability to provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
- Ability to maintain medical records.
- Ability to assist Doctor and Technician staff.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment.
Responsibilities
- Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
- Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
- Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals.
- Maintaining medical records.
- Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed.
- Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.
