About The Position

Animal Care Center at Cherry Way is hiring a part-time Veterinary Assistant for its busy, four-doctor veterinary hospital, which provides full medical care as well as grooming, boarding, and doggie daycare. The role is approximately 15 hours per week, with a mix of morning shifts (7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) and afternoon shifts (2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.), along with Saturday morning rotations. The Veterinary Assistant works in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and supports clinical care and client service. Responsibilities may vary according to hospital needs and the employee’s experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned responsibilities. Veterinary technician licensure is welcome but not required.

Requirements

Veterinary experience is preferred.
Strong technical skills with laboratory work, radiographs, and patient monitoring.
Dependable and detail-oriented approach.
Positive attitude and team-player mindset.
Passion for animals and client service.
Availability for Saturday morning rotations.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift the stated weight with assistance; the posting lists the weight as “[Weight] lbs.”

Nice To Haves

Veterinary technician licensure is welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist doctors with examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
Monitor patients throughout their care.
