About The Position

St. Francis Animal Hospital is seeking a Part-time Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This is a fast-paced companion animal and exotics practice offering comprehensive services including preventative care, surgery, urgent care, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, and ultrasonography. The role involves direct patient care, client communication, and assisting with medical procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
  • Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
  • Must be able to properly restrain pets
  • Proficient in sample collection
  • Proficient in obtaining medical histories
  • Proficient in processing laboratory tests and radiographs
  • Proficient in anesthesia monitoring
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Responsibilities

  • Pet restraint
  • Triage incoming patients
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
  • Administration of medications
  • Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
  • Surgical preparation and assistance
  • Anesthetic management
