About The Position
VCA Sunset Animal Medical Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. The clinic has proudly served the community for over 40 years, dedicated to helping pets live long, healthy, and happy lives. They aim to deliver the best medical care for each pet and cultivate caring relationships with pet parents. The veterinarians, technicians, and pet-friendly support staff are trained to the highest standards, ensuring patients receive the best preventive and healing care. Requirements
- Previous experience or training/education working in a veterinary facility preferred.
- Must be friendly, outgoing, and "people oriented."
- Excellent communications skills.
- Telephone and computer skills are necessary.
- Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments and to accept change.
- High School Diploma.
Responsibilities
- Help create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.
- Win the confidence of every pet parent by delivering an outstanding client experience.
- Provide exceptional care to every patient.
- Utilize knowledge in compassionate patient care, client education and care, pharmacy and medication administration, lab sample collection and processing, diagnostic imaging, surgical preparation and assisting, anesthesia monitoring, and medical recordkeeping.
- Be capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties.
