About The Position

Care Center located in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a fulltime Veterinary Assistant to join our outstanding surgical team for the summer! If you’re passionate about veterinary medicine, eager to gain hands-on experience, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to meet you.
This is a fulltime position with a schedule that will vary, weekdays only. The pay range is $17–20/hour depending on experience. Requirements

• Passionate about animal care and interested in gaining veterinary experience
• Strong communicator who contributes to a supportive team culture
• Patient restraint skills, including behavioral assessment and safe handling
• Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced work environment
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• High school diploma, GED, or higher education
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted

Nice To Haves

• Prior clinical or animal handling experience preferred (but not required)

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, procedures, and treatments
• Monitor and support surgical and hospitalized patients
• Perform surgical prep and follow operating room protocols
• Maintain surgical equipment and prepare lab samples
• Share organized updates with the care team
• Provide pet owners with clear home-care instructions and updates
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless care
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient hospital environment
• Accurately document patient care and treatments
