Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
Home Veterinary Services, L.L.C. is a full service veterinary clinic offering state-of-the-art resources in the comfort of a 1918 home. The Veterinary Assistant will perform duties including, but not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. The role requires the ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises, and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development are available.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
- Must be able to properly restrain pets
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
