Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
Edgewood Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position with a 4-day workweek. The role involves assisting veterinarians and technicians, providing compassionate patient care, handling and restraining patients, preparing treatment areas, maintaining clinical spaces, communicating with clients, and collaborating with the medical team.
Requirements
- Previous veterinary assistant experience
- A passion for animal welfare and the human-animal bond
- A commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care
- Strong communication and client service skills
- The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced veterinary environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Provide compassionate, attentive care to patients throughout their visit
- Safely handle and restrain patients while supporting their comfort and well-being
- Assist with patient treatments and routine veterinary procedures
- Prepare exam and treatment areas for efficient patient care
- Help maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical spaces
- Support accurate communication and coordination between the medical team and clients
- Help educate clients about patient care and veterinarian recommendations
- Collaborate with doctors, technicians, and fellow support team members to keep the hospital running smoothly
