About The Position
Greenwood Veterinary Care, a small animal general practice opened seven days a week, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant. We offer exceptional services including wellness and sick exams, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, surgical services, dental procedures, laser therapy, platelet rich plasma and stem cell therapy, behavior counseling, and emergency services. Located in Brooklyn, NY, our practice offers a great work-life balance with proximity to Manhattan's attractions and the benefits of a more laid-back borough life, including access to Prospect Park and numerous local amenities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant
- Compassionate

Nice To Haves
- Proficient in sample collection
- Obtaining medical histories
- Processing laboratory tests and radiographs

Responsibilities
- Pet restraint
- Triage incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
- Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- Exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
