Requirements

Previous Veterinary Assistant experience preferred
Animal handling experience with a strong desire to learn will also be considered
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Dependability and strong attention to detail
A positive, collaborative attitude
A genuine passion for patient care and client service
The ability to safely lift and restrain animals of various sizes

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during wellness, illness, and surgical appointments
Obtain patient histories and document medical information accurately
Safely restrain patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures
Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
Assist with patient treatments, nursing care, and diagnostic procedures
Support laboratory testing and sample collection
Assist with surgical preparation and patient recovery
Maintain accurate patient medical records
Clean, organize, and stock hospital areas and treatment spaces
Provide compassionate client communication and education
Help maintain an efficient daily workflow throughout the hospital
