Requirements

  • Previous Veterinary Assistant experience preferred
  • Animal handling experience with a strong desire to learn will also be considered
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependability and strong attention to detail

  • A genuine passion for patient care and client service
  • The ability to safely lift and restrain animals of various sizes

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during wellness, illness, and surgical appointments
  • Obtain patient histories and document medical information accurately
  • Safely restrain patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Assist with patient treatments, nursing care, and diagnostic procedures
  • Support laboratory testing and sample collection
  • Assist with surgical preparation and patient recovery
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records
  • Clean, organize, and stock hospital areas and treatment spaces
  • Provide compassionate client communication and education
  • Help maintain an efficient daily workflow throughout the hospital
