About The Position
Alum Creek Veterinary Center is seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated Veterinary Assistants to join its growing team. The role supports veterinarians and technicians in caring for animals and offers hands-on learning in veterinary medicine and animal husbandry. The center provides wellness and surgical services and cares for sick pets, as well as boarding and hospitalized patients. The position may suit an accomplished Veterinary Assistant or a Veterinary Technician student seeking practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians in the care of animals.
- Learn about veterinary medicine and animal husbandry through hands-on experience.
- Restrain cats and dogs.
- Maintain medical records.
- Assist with care for boarding and hospitalized patients.
- Administer medication and sterilize equipment.
- Educate clients.
- Scrub in and assist with surgeries.
- Prepare animal food and bedding.
- Fill prescriptions.
- Make client phone calls and schedule appointments.
- Invoice clients.
