Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
Lubbock Small Animal Emergency Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This clinic serves Lubbock, TX and surrounding areas, providing high-level veterinary medicine with friendly, compassionate service. They treat every patient with loving attention and care, focusing on cats, dogs, and exotic pets. The clinic is open 24/7 for emergencies and is looking to fill various shifts. The role involves a range of duties including pet restraint, triage, lab sample collection and analysis, diagnostic imaging, nursing care for hospitalized cases, medication administration, client communication, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. The position requires the ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises, and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases. The company offers opportunities for growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience preferred
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
- Must be able to properly restrain pets
- Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
