The company is looking for a dependable and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This is an entry-level, part-time role ideal for someone who enjoys working with animals and supporting a busy veterinary hospital behind the scenes. No prior veterinary experience is required, as they are happy to train the right person. The Veterinary Assistant plays an important support role by helping keep the facility clean, organized, and running smoothly. This position focuses primarily on cleaning exam rooms, managing laundry, restocking supplies, and assisting veterinary staff as needed. By maintaining a clean and comfortable environment, the Veterinary Assistant helps ensure pets receive high-quality care and that veterinarians and technicians can focus on medical treatment. This role is a great opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in veterinary medicine.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect exam rooms, treatment areas and surgery areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the hospital.
  • Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
  • Wash, dry, and fold hospital laundry including towels, blankets, and bedding.
  • Keep the hospital clean, organized, and welcoming for clients and staff.
  • Stock supplies, linens, and cleaning materials as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment.
  • Provide gentle, compassionate handling of pets under staff direction.
  • Walk, feed, and clean patient enclosures.
  • Help keep patients clean, dry, and comfortable.
  • Assist with patient admissions and discharges as needed.
  • Alert technicians or veterinarians to any concerns noticed with patients.
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians by setting up rooms and procedures.
  • Help restock treatment and exam areas.
  • Follow established safety, cleaning, and infection-control protocols.
  • Support the team with various tasks as assigned in a fast-paced environment.
