About The Position
At VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists, we are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Surgery Team. We may be part of a big company, but we are a close-knit work family. If you think that evenings or overnights are for you and you have experience in Veterinary Medicine, then connect with us for more information! We believe in high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care, and making that happen through dedication and learning. The position is for four 10-hour shifts. This will include at least one weekend day (unless you are a glittery unicorn that really, really wants to work Saturdays AND Sundays, which we would be happy to accommodate).

Responsibilities
- Maintaining medical records.
- Preparing for and performing procedures and treatments.
- Preparing medications and prescriptions.
- Communicating in person and on the phone with clients.
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Assisting in procedures.
- Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for hospitalized pets.
- Assisting in other areas of the hospital, as needed.
