About The Position

Valhalla Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This role involves providing personal, loving care to pets and supporting pet owners. The hospital is equipped with the latest medical capabilities, including an in-house laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology, and utilizes laser therapy. The Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to animal care and client communication.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience preferred

Proficient in sample collection
Obtaining medical histories
Processing laboratory tests

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
Withstanding unpleasant odors and noises
Exposure to potential hazards such as bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases
