Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
PetCare Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their dedicated team. The role involves a variety of tasks related to animal care, including patient restraint, sample collection and analysis, diagnostic imaging, nursing care for hospitalized patients, medication administration, client communication, surgical preparation, and anesthetic management. The position requires the ability to work in an environment with unpleasant odors and noises, and potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases. Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience preferred
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
- Must be able to properly restrain pets
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Nice To Haves
- Proficient in sample collection
- Obtaining medical histories
- Processing laboratory tests and radiographs
- Anesthesia monitoring
Responsibilities
- Pet restraint
