About The Position
Insight Veterinary Wellness Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join their hybrid hospital, which offers both Emergency and Primary Care services. This role involves supporting a team of 8 DVMs, 6 RVTs, and 29 support staff in a facility equipped with 2 ORs, a dental suite, radiology, ultrasound, PRP, Cellfie, an in-house lab, and Ligasure & cautery. The Veterinary Assistant will play a crucial role in patient care, client communication, and maintaining accurate medical records within a collaborative and supportive workplace that values teamwork, excellent patient care, and professional development. Access to visiting specialists and one of the few community blood banks in California are also features of this practice.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant required
- Experience in a small animal practice
- Compassionate communicator with strong client service skills
- Team-oriented, detail-focused, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Room patients and collect medical histories
- Provide routine patient care and administer vaccines
- Assist with treatments, diagnostics, and anesthesia monitoring
- Perform blood draws, run in-house laboratory work, and place IV catheters
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Support a variable caseload depending on season
- Assist with scheduling, client check-in/out, answering phones, and other duties as assigned
