Our hospital is seeking a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our amazing team and work in all areas of the hospital. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented individual who is eager to provide outstanding patient care and customer service. Our hospital operates Monday through Friday, with no weekend work. We are committed to providing a positive and healthy working environment where employee well-being is a top priority, with a supportive and encouraging team atmosphere. Our beautiful facility includes 5 exam rooms, a shared front office space, a well-equipped lab area, a spacious treatment area, private cat kennels, a large surgery suite, top-of-the-line radiology technology, and a staff lounge.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform tasks independently under the direction of a veterinarian.
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (implied by the job title and description of duties)
  • Team-oriented individual.
  • Eager to provide outstanding patient care and customer service.
  • Knowledge of canine/feline annual wellness and prevention protocols.
  • Surgical technician experience.
  • Front office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture.
  • Conduct lab testing and preparation, including CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, blood smears, ear smear and cytology, fecal flotation, blood pressures, and EKG.
  • Operate digital radiography equipment.
  • Administer vaccinations and other SQ, IM, and IV injections.
  • Perform prophylaxis and dental radiographs.
  • Place IV catheters.
  • Administer IV fluid therapy and in-patient treatment.
  • Apply knowledge of canine/feline annual wellness and prevention protocols.
  • Provide surgical technician support, including administering and monitoring anesthesia, calculating anesthetic protocols, intubation, sterile procedures, sterilization and preparation of surgical tools, and assisting the surgeon during select surgical procedures.
  • Handle front office duties.
