About The Position
CityVet Lone Tree is seeking a motivated, compassionate Veterinary Assistant for its growing general practice in Lone Tree, Colorado. The clinic focuses on high-quality medicine, thoughtful client education, and partnering with pet parents to create treatment plans for patients. The Veterinary Technician Assistant supports patient care and operational productivity by helping Veterinary Technicians with technical work and administrative details, and by facilitating communication among the operating room, front office staff, and clients. The role includes supporting medical, surgical, and dental procedures, assisting with patient triage and appointments, and helping the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
- At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
- Understanding of and ability to safely restrain animals.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medication.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist height.
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, walk, lift, carry, and reach.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented.
Responsibilities
- Assist Veterinary Technicians in preparing patients for medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including assisting with anesthesia administration and safely restraining patients for examinations and treatment.
- Partner with Veterinarian and Veterinary Technician teams to administer appropriate patient triage based on client and facility needs and capabilities.
- Assist Veterinary Technicians with booked appointments, walk-ins, and work-ins, including recording observations and treatment plans in patient files and performing medical treatments under doctor supervision.
- Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
