Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant required.
Strong animal handling and restraint skills, with knowledge of veterinary clinical procedures.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Proficiency with veterinary equipment, instruments, and industry-standard tools.

Nice To Haves

Previous small animal emergency and critical care experience (3+ years) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures in accordance with the Scope of Practice established by the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine.
Safely handle and restrain patients; administer medications and vaccines as directed and permitted by the Scope of Practice.
Collect laboratory samples, perform basic diagnostics as assigned, and maintain accurate medical records.
Educate clients on pet care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions as appropriate.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
