Experienced Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
PriorityPet Urgent Care is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant for their brand new, state-of-the-art hospital in Aiken. This facility provides accessible urgent care for pets daily from 12 noon to 10 pm. The company mission is to provide high-quality, easy-to-access veterinary care with a promise that exceptional pet care is the highest priority. Requirements
- Minimum of 2-years experience as a Veterinary Assistant
- Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
- Availability to work some weekend shifts
- Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
- Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
- Compassionate, calm team player
- Ability to multitask
- Strong communication skills
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in sample collection
- Obtaining medical histories
- Processing laboratory tests and radiographs
- Anesthesia monitoring
Responsibilities
- Animal restraint
- Triage of incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
