About The Position

We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join VCA Urgent Care Animal Hospital in Chandler, AZ. This is a full-time position with an alternative work week schedule (4x10). The hospital operates 7 days a week from 10 am to 8 pm, requiring coverage on one weekend day per week and holidays. The role involves providing high-quality supportive care in a fear-free environment within a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, and high-tech hospital setting. The team works in pairs, utilizing a digital whiteboard for communication and efficient case completion. Emphasis is placed on low-stress handling, hands-free radiology, and an organized treatment space. A virtual waiting room with a capacity analyzer helps manage patient flow and ensures team members can leave on time. The technician and assistant team focuses solely on patient care, not answering phones, presenting estimates, or checking out clients.

Requirements

• 3 years of veterinary experience in a general practice or emergency setting
• Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and high pace
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Willingness to jump in as needed
• Able to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Comfortable asking for help and clarification when needed
• Possess high attention to detail
