About The Position

Plum Creek Regional Animal Medical Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their progressive, fast-paced 3-doctor small animal practice. The practice offers a wide range of services including wellness, urgent care, surgery, diagnostics, and more. They are a 25-year AAHA-Certified hospital located east of Crete, Illinois, near the Indiana border, with an outpatient clinic in Dyer, Indiana. This role involves direct patient care and client communication.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Must be able to properly restrain pets
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset

Nice To Haves

Proficient in sample collection
Obtaining medical histories
Processing laboratory tests and radiographs
Anesthesia monitoring

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples

Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
