Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
Woodinville Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to become an integral part of our team, providing outstanding support to our veterinarians while helping deliver exceptional care and service to every patient and client. This role is ideal for a skilled, adaptable assistant who enjoys a diverse caseload and is eager to expand their clinical knowledge. You'll have the opportunity to contribute across all areas of the hospital, including appointments, surgery, dentistry, patient treatments, and client education. We're seeking someone who is proactive, organized, and dependable—an individual who works efficiently in a busy environment, anticipates the needs of the team, communicates with professionalism, and is committed to creating a positive experience for patients, clients, and coworkers alike.
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary assistant or related role preferred
- Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
- Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
- Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service
Nice To Haves
- Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
- Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
- Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
