We are currently looking to hire a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. Requirements

  • 1+ years of veterinary experience (preferred)
  • Saturday availability
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
  • TPR
  • Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or technician preferred
  • Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medical procedures
  • Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices
  • Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
  • Experience with animal catheterization is a plus
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is beneficial
  • Experience in pet grooming or pet sitting is a bonus.

  • Experience rooming patients
  • Surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used
  • Drawing blood and running bloodwork
  • Knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Understanding the importance of client education

  • Experience with animal catheterization is a plus
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
  • Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, and dental cleanings
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
  • Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
  • Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment plans
  • Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners
  • Rooming patients
  • Surgical assisting
  • Drawing blood and running bloodwork
  • Proper animal handling and restraint
  • Client education
  • Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
  • Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Placing IV catheters
  • Digital radiology including positioning
  • Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
  • Anesthesia (monitoring, aseptic technique)
  • Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
