About The Position

Salty Paws Veterinary Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and help keep patients safe, comfortable, and well cared for. The Yorktown clinic is an established practice with a team of Fear Free professionals focused on animal well-being and client satisfaction. The role is full-time, with a four-day work week and no weekends. Salary is competitive and based on experience. Requirements

Experience in animal handling and restraint.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology.

Willingness to become Fear Free certified; certification costs are paid by the hospital.

Veterinary technician licensure is welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations.
Handle and restrain patients using Fear Free techniques during treatments.
Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic tests.
Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to the veterinarian.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care.
Keep examination rooms and treatment areas clean and organized.
Perform additional responsibilities as hospital needs, experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned duties require.
