Requirements
- Experience working with animals is preferred
- Veterinary assistant experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Passion for helping pets and the people who love them
Responsibilities
- Assist the veterinarian with patient care and medical procedures
- Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas
- Support hospitalized patients and monitor their comfort and well-being
- Administer treatments and medications as directed
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Educate clients and help create a positive experience for every visit
- Work collaboratively with the entire hospital team to keep daily operations running smoothly
