Veterinary Assistant - Large Animal

About The Position
Provide assistance with patient care for animals in the Large Animal unit of the Veterinary Medical Center Hospital. Assist clinicians, veterinary technicians, and clinical students by monitoring patients, including temperature, pulse, and respiration; administering IV fluids; walking animals outside; jogging horses; and restraining all large animal species. Duties also include cleaning ward areas, stocking supplies, processing and submitting lab samples and medication orders, and entering information in the hospital information system.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six months to one year of related work experience in a veterinary practice.
- Experience maintaining accurate records.
- Typing and basic computer skills.

- Strong understanding of large animal species, including handling, jogging, and restraint.
