About The Position

Angell Animal Medical Center is looking for a Veterinary Assistant/Veterinary Technician to join our Clinical Services Department. Technicians and assistants are vital to the effective and efficient care of all patients at Angell. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen knowledge and skills across many specialties. In this role, you will perform a variety of clinical tasks including phlebotomy, placement of intravenous catheters, collection of urine samples via catheterization and by ultrasound-guided cystocentesis, preparing and administering injections, and performing point-of-care testing or time sensitive testing such as glucose curves and ACTH stimulations. The clinic team also works on the clinic floor performing safe patient restraint, admissions and discharges from the hospital, and client education. You will be trained in insulin dosing and administration, and use of inhalant medications. The Clinic Team provides clinical services to all departments, including a close connection to the emergency department. This position allows you to work with many different doctors and specialty or emergency services. Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician to be considered for a Technician role
  • Clear communication is essential to relaying veterinary clinical information to our clients and other hospital staff in a confident, clear manner
